We are pleased to announce that Laurent Campo has joined us as a Partner in the Corporate group.
Mr. Campo has extensive and broad experience counseling clients in M&A, corporate transactions, strategic alliances, complex commercial transactions, as well as administrative and regulatory law compliance. He brings more than two decades of experience both as an in-house lawyer and law firm counsel, with a particular focus on technology companies as well as government contractors and other entities operating in highly regulated industries. Mr. Campo is a seasoned deal attorney that clients rely on when they need a strategic and tactical partner that gets deals done, whether buying, selling, financing, reorganizing or expanding operations via a wide variety of corporate partnering transactions.
As Vice President and General Counsel at a technology company, Mr. Campo served as lead executive for legal, compliance, ethics, and risk management functions, including managing internal and external resources related to those functions. He structured, negotiated and implemented a complex, multi-staged spinout of the company from a larger government contractor, including multi-phased IP cross-licensing, raising equity and debt financing, and obtaining government approval of novation of Small Business Innovative Research government contracts. Prior to his in-house role, Mr. Campo’s practice was global in scope, handling matters such as restructuring operations and international project finance loans related to the Chinese operations of a US-based Fortune 100 company, as well as assisting a European-based media company to acquire a series of US-based children’s entertainment producers using private and public debt and equity issued in the US and abroad. A fluent French speaker, Mr. Campo also represented venture funds and private equity companies completing investments in France and assisting their portfolio companies with expanding their operations with acquisitions, debt financings, licensing transactions and strategic alliances.
Mr. Campo received his B.A. in 1992 from Cornell University where he was Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. in 1995 from the Duke University School of Law.
