PLG welcomes Alan Velasco to the firm as a partner in its San Fracisco office. Alan joins the firm’s AI, Blockchain and Emerging Technologies, Corporate & Transactional, and Technology Transactions practice groups.
Alan represents clients with the purchase and sale of managed services with respect to IT, business processes, and the system implementation of automation and cloud computing solutions; data licensing; software licensing; and general commercial transactions. Alan’s clients span large financial institutions to start-ups.
Before transitioning into law, Alan spent two years at a medical device company as an Engineering Technician where Alan assisted with the qualification process of hydrogen peroxide sterilizers, and five years at a pharmaceutical company as a Senior Staff Engineer where Alan was responsible for qualifying the manufacturing steam sterilizers for intravenous solutions products in the United States. This engineering expertise enhances Alan’s legal practice, particularly in transactions where confronted with any emerging technologies.
Prior to joining PLG, Alan served as Counsel at Mayer Brown. He earned his JD, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and holds an MBA with honors from the University of California, Irvine. Alan also completed his undergraduate degree, cum laude, at Boston University.
