Bruce J. Wolstoncroft is an experienced intellectual property attorney with more than 30 years of corporate and law firm experience. He focuses his practice on all aspects of intellectual property including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights.
Mr. Wolstoncroft has worked with start-ups and international corporations to help develop appropriate intellectual property strategies and portfolios to benefit the organizations. A registered patent attorney, Mr. Wolstoncroft negotiates and drafts all types of intellectual property agreements including joint development agreements, license agreements, settlement agreements, dispute resolution agreements, and co-existence agreements. He counsels clients on cost effective measures to obtain, protect, and enforce their intellectual property.
Prior to joining Potomac Law, Mr. Wolstoncroft was a Partner and Chair of the Intellectual Property Group at Saxton & Stump and previously served in leadership and practice chair positions at two other law firms headquartered in Pennsylvania. He spent more than a decade at two Fortune 500 companies including General Intellectual Property Counsel at Armstrong World Industries where he managed the Intellectual Property Department and the global intellectual property portfolio and Director of Patents for AMP Incorporated (now a portion of TE Connectivity). As in-house counsel, Mr. Wolstoncroft was responsible for obtaining cost effective protection to meet the business needs of the organizations.

- Negotiated license and commercial agreements to support product sales of over $100 million per year in revenue
- Drafted Intellectual Property Policies for companies of varied sizes and colleges
- Developed and implemented strategic and cost-effective trademark program for an international corporation to maintain and enhance brand awareness worldwide
- Worked with in-house legal team to develop and implement a cost-effective copyright registration program
- Performed due diligence on Intellectual Property portfolio for sale of a major division of an international corporation
- Drafted a patent which survived litigation challenges and recovered over 50 million dollars in licensing revenue
- Managed patent portfolio with annual spend of over $9 million per year
- Oversaw the filing of over 350 US patents per year for an international corporation
