Potomac Law is one of the few firms in the country with a practice devoted to pharmacy law. The practice of pharmacy, including manufacturing, distribution, and sale of pharmaceuticals is regulated by state boards of pharmacy. It is vital that companies in this highly regulated industry develop and maintain a strong reputation with state boards while protecting their interests and those of their consumers. Our attorneys have practiced for more than two decades before the California Board of Pharmacy (BOP) and the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) and routinely work with out-of-state attorneys to coordinate defenses for pharmacists, technicians, national and independent pharmacies, manufacturers, and distributors. They have vast experience in handling citation office conferences, citation appeals, disciplinary proceedings following the filing of an Accusation, hearings before an OAH Judge on appeals and Accusations, and challenges to BOP’s final decision in state court.
We also represent self-funded health care plans and manufacturers in contract-related disputes and advise pharmacies and pharmacists in a range of matters pertaining to claims of negligence or malpractice, wrongful medical record disclosure, and side effects of prescription and over-the-counter medication.
The firm's attorneys are members of the American Society of Pharmacy Law (ASPL) and are committed to staying apprised of new developments in the fields of pharmacy and pharmaceutical law. Our attorneys have spoken at numerous pharmacy law seminars and conferences for ASPL and National Association of Chain Drug Stores.
