Potomac Law congratulates Susan Metcalfe and Eliza Hall for their roles in the recent exoneration of Daniel Carnevale, who spent more than 13 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. In 2007, Carnevale was convicted and sentenced to three consecutive life sentences after being arrested for a 1993 Pittsburgh apartment building fire that killed three people. He has always maintained his innocence since he was first questioned about the fire. Working with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, Metcalfe and Hall gave countless pro-bono hours to draft a post-conviction relief act petition and eventually litigate on behalf of Carnevale.  Carnevale was released from prison on March 18, 2020.  PLG is proud to support the Pennsylvania Innocence Project in its efforts to improve the integrity and outcomes of our criminal justice system.
