We are pleased to announce that Gregory Braker has joined us as a Partner in our Environmental, Real Estate and Finance, and White Collar Defense and Investigations practice groups.
Mr. Braker has been providing environmental guidance to clients for more than twenty-five years on issues affecting property acquisition, development, and management; transportation and distribution; and heavy industrial operations (including utility, mining, and manufacturing companies). His diverse background includes permitting, regulatory counseling, and defense work related to the National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Air Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Mr. Braker advises clients on how to design and implement efficient and cost-effective corporate compliance programs and environmental management systems, improve their existing programs/systems, and rethink how they do business to minimize regulatory burdens and reduce costs. He has directed teams of legal and technical experts in siting and obtaining environmental permitting for many large, complex development projects --- from electric infrastructure and industrial facilities to shopping centers and residential communities.
He also helps clients assess, remediate and clear contaminated sites, often in the context of corporate and real estate transactions that require comprehensive yet realistic solutions for risk management.
Mr. Braker received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1992. He earned his B.A from Evangel University, magna cum laude, and received his M.A. in Rhetoric and Composition from University of Maryland College Park, summa cum laude.
