We are pleased to announce that Michael Passaportis has joined the Washington D.C. office of Potomac Law Group as Counsel in the Appellate and Critical Motions practice.
Mr. Passaportis began his career with a clerkship for Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, followed by a clerkship for Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court.
After his clerkships, Mr. Passaportis worked in the Supreme Court and Appellate Practice at Mayer Brown LLP in Washington DC. Following private practice, he returned to the University of Virginia School of Law to serve as an assistant professor.
“We are delighted to welcome Mike Passaportis to the firm,” said Potomac Law Managing Partner Benjamin Lieber. “Mike’s arrival deepens our bench and further expands the capabilities of our national Litigation and Appellate practices."
Mr. Passaportis received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he graduated at the top of his class, and his B.A. from Harvard University.
Mr. Passaportis’ charitable efforts over the last several years included raising money for a Zimbabwean non-profit organization catering to the elderly destitute by hiking over 8,000 miles. Through these efforts, Mr. Passaportis completed the “Triple Crown” of hiking – the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail.
