Partner Derek Adams will serve as a moderator at the Federal Bar Association’s 2023 Qui Tam Conference in Washington D.C. on February 16-17.

Derek will moderate the session titled "The Future of Pandemic Fraud Prosecution" in which the panelists will dig deeper into the thornier legal issues that will arise from fraud cases brought under various stimulus programs, including the Paycheck Protection Program, the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program, Employee Retention Credit, and others.

All of the panelists are seasoned financial fraud practitioners, having pursued and/or defended cases stemming from the financial crisis for much of the prior decade. The panel includes the Deputy Director of the Civil Fraud Section of the U.S. Department of Justice; the Deputy Chief, Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of California; and a former Department of Justice trial attorney.
