Potomac Law Partner Derek Adams will moderate a 90-minute roundtable titled "The Practicalities of a Parallel Proceeding" for the Federal Bar Association's Qui Tam section on March 6 at noon. Panelists will examine parallel proceedings under the False Claims Act and related criminal statutes and discuss DOJ's approach to enforcement. This session will be unique in that it will explore a hypothetical civil and criminal case involving PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) and health care kickbacks.
The panel comprises Assistant Chief of the Market Integrity and Major Frauds Unit at the Criminal Fraud Section, Leslie Garthwaite; experienced Trial Attorney in the Civil Fraud Section, Kristen Murphy; former AUSA at SDNY and NDCA and experienced FCA and FIRREA defense practitioner, Ellen London of London & Stout P.C.; and recently elected Chairman of The Anti-Fraud Coalition and Co-Chair of Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP's Whistleblower and Qui Tam Practice, Vincent McKnight.
The virtual session is free to attend and non-FBA members are welcome.
